Year In Review Social 1

In 2024, This is Planet Ed expanded upon its four core initiatives - Early Years Climate Action, K12 Climate Action, Higher Ed Climate Action, and Planet Media - and we are excited to reflect on the vibrant seasons of change that shaped this year. Our initiatives flourished in different ways, each season bringing new opportunities to further scale impact and empower young people.

We’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we can’t wait to share some of our favorite moments with you! Let’s dive in:

Key Moments

Planet Media Call For Pitches: The Call for Pitches requested pitches for short-form content designed to support children ages 8-12 in understanding four Essential Climate Principles. We received hundreds of pitches from across the country, all of which incorporated the key principles through a variety of creative approaches, including animation, live action, music, and more.

Harvard Askwith Education Forum: Early Years Climate Action Task Force member Leah Austin joined a panel about tHealthy Childhoods in a Changing Climate,” moderated by Chelsea Clinton.

The Higher Ed Climate Action Task Force released the Higher Ed Climate Action Plan, which identifies the pivotal opportunity for higher education to lead climate solutions, adapt to our changing climate, and prepare students for success in a sustainable, resilient, and just society.

This Is Planet Ed at Aspen Ideas: Climate: Planet Ed partners joined the “School of Thought: Education for Intergenerational Climate Justice” panel and the Planet Media Pitch Fest.
